VIEWPOINT TERMS OF SERVICE

Welcome to Viewpoint. These Terms govern your use of the Viewpoint iOS app and related services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old.

2. Description of Service

Viewpoint is an AI-powered tool that analyzes claims in videos you share. All analyses are generated automatically and are for informational purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice. The Service is provided "as is".

3. Account & Authentication

We use Sign in with Apple. Your account is identified by Apple's stable apple_sub identifier.

4. Analyses and Public URLs

Each analysis receives a unique public URL. Public analyses remain accessible even after you delete your account.

5. Credits and Purchases

We use a credit system. Credits are sold as one-time packs through Apple In-App Purchase. All payments are processed by Apple and verified by our backend. Credits have no cash value and are forfeited on account deletion. New users receive a number of free checks on signup.

6. Daily Share Reward

You may claim one Basic credit per day by using the in-app share action. This may involve sharing an analysis from the report screen or sharing a promo/invite link from the out-of-credits paywall (honor system). We do not verify posts on external platforms.

7. The Honest Creator Program (Planned)

We are developing the Honest Creator Program to share anonymized, aggregated insights with media literacy creators and researchers. Public trending and community feeds are currently available. The full program is planned for a future release.

8. Third-Party Services

Viewpoint uses third-party services as described in the Privacy Policy. By using the app you consent to the limited data sharing required to operate the Service.

9. Artificial Intelligence

Viewpoint uses AI models routed through OpenRouter (including Google Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite, DeepSeek v3.1, and Google Gemini 2.5 Flash for vision) and Groq for transcription. Results may contain errors. You are responsible for how you use any analysis.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You may not abuse the share reward system, reverse-engineer the Service, use it for spam or illegal purposes, or violate the rules of platforms where you share content. We reserve the right to take appropriate action, including account deletion.

11. Intellectual Property

You retain rights to your own commentary. Viewpoint's app, branding, and technology remain our property.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Deletion is immediate. Public analyses remain accessible. We may delete accounts that violate these Terms.

13. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS". TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR CREDITS IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS, OR NZ$50 IF YOU MADE NO PURCHASES.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Disputes shall first be attempted through good faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, they shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Auckland, New Zealand on an individual basis. You waive class action rights.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email.
